Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bars

The taste of pumpkin always brings me back to the nostalgic feeling that accompanies the holidays. Once I start seeing pumpkin, nutmeg, and marshmallows on display at Ralph's, I start browsing holiday recipes and deciding what to bake for the upcoming occasions. These Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bars are one of my family's favorite holiday recipes. My mom makes them every year and we often devour them while they're still warm from the oven. These were a special treat on my last visit home and I'm still dreaming about how fabulous they were. What flavors remind you of the holidays?

Oh, these look absolutely delectable, Valerie! I'll eat ANYTHING with chocolate in it. For me, apples scream fall -- especially when paired with cinnamon, and preferably in a fantastic apple crisp.

Okay so I just sent this recipe to my fiance asking if he'd like this for Thanksgiving desert!! I'm not so sure I want to make a pumpkin pie if it's only going to be the two of us this year. This seems like a much better option!

I've never seen anything like these - they look amazing!
I just adore anything pumpkin this time of year..also cinnamon and/or apple treats! I had a really amazing homemade walnut cinnamon coffee cake muffin on Saturday with coffee that had really obvious hints of molasses and cherry (the bag didn't lie) Soooo good! :)

Good grief Valerie. I basically want to roll into the kitchen and make these immediately. With a scoop of ice cream on the side.

It's watching the calories time over here aka TORTURE.

Hope you had a great weekend!
