Bright is the New Black

1. Asos Covered Lock Clutch $21.52 (sale)
2. Topshop Waterfall Drape Shorts in Emerald $70
3. Topshop Pink One Shoulder Floaty Blouse $80
4. Parker Double Ruffle Dress $187
5. Dolce Vita Idalia $150
6. Ray-Ban New Wayfarer $109
7. Zara Fashion City Bag with Flap $149

It's been uncharacteristically cold in Southern California lately and I've been dreaming of sunshine, warm temperatures and beach days.  When I think of warmer weather, I automatically picture bright colors and this year I'm in good company as colorful clothes and accessories are everywhere.  I've been searching for the perfect bright yellow clutch and at only $21, I think I just found it at Asos.  Are you embracing bright colors?

I'm with you, Valerie -- so ready for bright, springy colors! I want one of everything here, but I'm especially loving the clutch, Ray-Bans, and that killer Parker dress!

I went back to front this summer and the two sundresses I got the most wear out of were black :) Maybe that had something to do with the state having the wettest summer on record... Maybe for the winter, I'll avoid black and keep it bright and cheery?

I always add color to my Spring/Summer with colored wayfarers. My Ray-Ban collection is a little out of control.

Yes, I love bright colors. I just bought a chiffon button down (loose) top @ American Apparel (in teal, or turquoise). Couldn't wait for it to warm up to wear it... wore it to dinner the other night, and felt very "springy." =)

But at the same time, I'm trying to stock up on a few basic colors for layering/pairing so I've been holding back from too many brights just yet! In the past, I've bought too many brights, and not enough basics, which puts me in the "I have nothing to wear" state!

i cant wait to try this trend out, i just need the weather to warm up about 30 degrees

Yay for new and fun colors! I find them so refreshing. I am loving that double ruffle dress (of course it has a high price tag). You've inspired me to get a color update on my wardrobe.

I am really looking forward to jewel bright tones in my closet this spring! And your set? It makes me hurt for the spring. I uncovered my car from a foot of snow today. That is not an exageration, sadly.

Your last recipe looks incredible. Incredible.
