Winter Shorts

1. Forever 21 Cuffed Houndstooth Shorts $19.80
2. Juicy Couture Riding Twill Herringbone Shorts $128
3. Forever 21 Sailor Shorts $17.80
4. American Eagle Sequin Party Shorts $49.50
5. Madewell Silk Tulip Shorts $88
6. Alexa Chung for Madewell Billie Velvet Shorts $88

It's fun to see that shorts are not just for summertime anymore. They're now worn year round with bare legs during warmer months and with tights and booties/boots or even pumps during the winter. It's one of the easiest/most budget friendly ways to transition your summer wardrobe into Fall. And even though there are very "winter" versions (think wool, twill, and high waists), this also look amazing with the basic denim cutoffs. I usually pair mine with a thin sweater or slouchy tee and warm jacket, but blouses and flannels also look great. Are you wearing shorts this Fall/Winter?

I love numbers 4 and 6, but I think shorts season is over here in Canada as it's supposed to snow this weekend! I was hoping for a few more weeks of mild weather but I don't think it's going to happen. I'll just have to live vicariously through other bloggers!

I am a huge fan of this post, since over the summer I got very into wearing shorts again! (not the denim kind!)
I really like the Forever 21 herringbone pair, they'd look fab with tights!

Hm , I don't know if I will wear it in freezing Iowa, but with tights I think it would be really fun! Hope you have a wonderful day!

I will be wearing shorts all winter long, but probably not any of the above.

I really love the idea of wearing shorts with tights. especially the sequinned shorts above to a cocktail party because sometimes dresses are just too predictable. ;)

Hells yes! I am all up in the shorts and don't care. None of mine are as chic as these since I've stuck to denim and what I already own, but one of the last things I purchased prior to wallet restriction was a pair of sequined bloomers at crew. We'll see if I can pull them off some day or if they'll end up at Buffalo exchange.

ve-el-vet!

I haven't before, but maybe I'll try this year! I could totally see you in this look. Hope you like the soup if you try it! xo

I still haven't tried the shorts + tights trend, but I am determined to take the dive this winter! I saw amazing shorts in UO for $20, but I didn't end up getting them. Anything thick or wool definitely looks like the best bet.

As much as I can appreciate this trend on others when I see it (sometimes), I'm just not sure I can buy a pair of shorts that I know I'll only want to wear in cold weather, ya know?

I do like those tweedy ones, #1&2 though.
