Buy This, Not That

Victor & Rolf Laced Shoes $350
Alloy Oxford Shoe $32.90

As I've mentioned here and here, grandma chic has long been one of my favorite looks. These Victor & Rolf shoes epitomize the look, but at $350 I doubt my grandma would approve. Then I found the Alloy shoes that look almost identical and was sold in an instant. Are you into grandma chic? If so, which pair would you choose?

these are soooo cute!
actually, i like the 32.90 one better just because i like the shape of the heel and the color better than the 350 one :)

Oh dear, this time I have expensive taste. I love the heel of the Victor & Rolf shoes. Sigh.

I like the seaming better on the expensive pair but $32 is a steal and I don't think I would pay $350 for the real deal.

Oh I like the Alloy's better. It's all in the heel! I am cool with grandma chic, but the Victor & Rolf ones look a little too grandma without the chic. LOL I am going with the cheapies!

I couldn't walk in either of those heels, I don't think, even if I do like them!

Saw the oxfords at Zara, picked them up, placed them down. Still not sure but for 32$, I'd buy these!

i definitely wouldn't pair the $350, but i don't love the heel on the alloy pair. it doesn't seem to go with the style as well

I am laughing out loud at "grandma chic" but it is so true! I really do love this look, and these shoes are perfect. I can imagine wearing them with a great pair of navy tights. I love the color of the more expensive ones, but like the style of Alloy (and the price tag).

Great find, Val! Have a great weekend.

I LOVE the Alloy ones -- so cute! And I actually prefer the thinner heel on them. Genius with denim leggings or a pretty dress and tights. Have a fantastic weekend, my dear!

I just bought a pair of black ones from Aldo. I had seen a pair on Nikki's blog and got a similar pair. But I must say after buying a few pairs of Aldo shoes recently, they are so uncomfortable and I need to probably stop buying shoes in there. But I love the look of these shoes especially with the heel. I like the Victor and Rolf's here!
