Buy This, Not That

Charles by Charles David Champagne Satin $124.95
Forever 21 Sateen Stiletto Heels $24.80

Ever since I bought these Michael Kors heels, I've had a weakness for satin platform pumps.   There's something so sweet and classic about this look and these pumps from Forever 21 are the perfect color for Spring. And at under $25, the price is certainly right.  I'm off to Forever 21 this weekend in the hopes of finding them.

Old Navy Open-Toe Espadrilles $24.50
Marc Jacobs Mouse Espadrille $445

After wearing espadrille wedges for years, I've decided to branch out with a flat version this season.  I was fixated on the Marc Jacobs pair as well as these Lanvin flats until I spotted the Old Navy peep toe flat, which I actually prefer. They come in six great colors (including metallic gold, olive green, and blue and white stripes), go with every outfit, and are only $24.  Score! Which shoes would you prefer?

Asos Statement Skull Ring-$21.52
Alexander McQueen Knuckle Duster- $550

I think we can all agree there's something really special about this Alexander McQueen Knuckle Duster ring.  It's interesting, unique, and really fun.  Of course, it's also out of my price range.  But this Asos Statement Skull ring is a close second for only $20.  What a great deal!

Topshop Semi Precious Agate Pendant $30
Blydesign Arti Two-Toned Agate Necklace $198

I've recently fallen in love with Agate accessories for their glamorous yet earthy look.  The vibrant colors and unique shapes make quite a statement when paired with otherwise basic outfits.  I've been looking everywhere for the perfect piece and this Topshop necklace is quite a bargain.  I'd certainly be happy to find one under my Christmas tree this year.  Are you wearing Agate?  Which necklace would you choose?

Urban Expressions Large Envelope Clutch $38.00
In college, I had a strong penchant for all things snakeskin. I was wearing a grey snakeskin pencil skirt when I met Gabe (which he won't ever let me forget), so this look will always hold a special place in my heart. While I'd like to think my tastes have evolved since college, I find myself still drawn to the python look, especially in shoes, handbags, and belts. I've been looking everywhere for a reasonably priced snakeskin envelope clutch and this Urban Expressions bag fits the bill perfectly and will certainly be added to my Christmas list.

Victor & Rolf Laced Shoes $350
Alloy Oxford Shoe $32.90

As I've mentioned here and here, grandma chic has long been one of my favorite looks. These Victor & Rolf shoes epitomize the look, but at $350 I doubt my grandma would approve. Then I found the Alloy shoes that look almost identical and was sold in an instant. Are you into grandma chic? If so, which pair would you choose?

Old Navy Women's Long Button Front Trench Coat $49.99
French Connection Macks Trench Coat $298

The classic trench coat is something that had been on my wish list for years. However, in Southern California, a long coat isn't usually necessary so I didn't want to break the bank for this trend. I found the perfect tan trench over the summer at Banana Republic at a major discount, which helped justify the purchase. I later found out it was on back order and is being sent to me in a few weeks. In the meantime, I've spotted this Old Navy trench that's making me second guess the one I bought. Either way, I'll be excited to wear this with my Hunter boots on many upcoming rainy days.

Forever 21 French Terry Raglan Hoodie $19.80

What could be better than throwing on a soft comfy hoodie with your sequined skirt? This is one look that I not only think is adorable, but appreciate for its comfort and ease. I've been pairing my soft luxurious hoodies with leather, sequins, maxi dresses, and lace to create a new spin on an old item.

Forever 21 Cold Weather Circle Scarf $6.80
Lucky Brand Softest Eternity Scarf $55.00

As the weather begins to chill, the leaves change color, and pumpkin spice lattes arrive at Starbucks, I'm starting to think about converting my daily outfits from Summer to Fall. One simple and inexpensive way to make this transition is the addition of a scarf. I throw them on with jeans and t-shirts, leggings and tunics, or even casual dresses. I love the cozy feel of wrapping up in one and the zest it adds to any outfit. My recent focus has been on eternity scarves and I adore this Forever 21 style for under $7! It will make the perfect addition to my Fall wardrobe without breaking the bank. What are you adding to your wardrobe for the transition into cooler weather?

Lulu's Mixx Laura Blue Suede Studded Pump $39
Sam Edelman
Lorissa $200.95

There's no escaping studs right now. They're currently everywhere from jackets to shoes to watches and everything in between. As I mentioned here, they've quickly become a large part of my wardrobe and I love the edgy feel they add to an outfit. When I first saw these Sam Edelman pumps, I stopped in my tracks. I recently came across this blue suede version at Lulu's and I might like the bold color and subtle studs even better. I also envision the Lulu's pair to be less dangerous to those of us who aren't as graceful as we'd like to believe (a.k.a. me). How do you feel about studded pumps? Which pair would you prefer, given the vast price difference?

Lulu's Who Holds the Key Ring $11
House of Harlow Key Ring $45

As I mentioned here, I've been going through a bit of a "key phase". It started with necklaces and now it's shifting toward cocktail rings. This House of Harlow ring is amazing, but I'm not sure my phase will last long enough to justify the price. For now I found this Lulu's ring that I love even more for it's distressed vintage feel. I actually just bought a double finger key cocktail ring from Forever 21 (couldn't find it online, so check in the store if you're interested) that looks identical to this Lulu's ring for only $4. Stay tuned for pictures in tomorrow's post.

Forever 21 Hampton's Linen Dress $24.80

This dress combines two of my new favorite trends- the shirt dress and the military look. Genius! I just ordered the Forever 21 dress and am patiently waiting it's arrival. What do you think of the military look? Which dress would you choose?

Forever 21 Rainbow Jewel Dome Ring $6.80
Kate Spade Tapered Ring $79.99 (sale)

I literally had this Kate Spade ring in my online shopping basket at Piperlime (it is on sale) when I found this rainbow gem ring at Forever 21 for $6.80! This was a no-brainer for me and I'm going to head right over to Forever 21 and try to find the inexpensive ring in person and skip on the Kate Spade this time. Which ring would you go for, given the vast difference in price?

Forever 21
Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent

I have a major crush on almost every Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent dress, and this ruffled number is no exception. It's so feminine and pretty without being overly girly. When I found the Forever 21 dress, I couldn't believe how similar they were! I think I even like the navy color better in this. What are you eyeing for summer?
